Duties

Coordinate with the Risk Reduction Program. Responsible for integrating all organization and active duty unit efforts toward minimizing suicidal behavior. Perform a range of tasks to ensure an effective suicide prevention program. Provide technical guidance to support unit personnel and Medical/mental health officers in the completion of the Depart of Defense Suicide Event Report Maintain certification for Army-approved suicide intervention skills training programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires 10% TDY.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance.

OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrate that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Combination of education and experience that has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes providing training pertaining to suicide prevention programs; create statistical data reports on suicides and attempts to identify trends when providing program support; utilize a variety of media platforms to promote program awareness; and provide referrals to appropriate local military or civilian health and human service agencies. OR EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a major directly related to the position of Violence Prevention Integrator. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of specialized experience and education as described above.
