About the Position: Serves as Army Community Service Operations Officer to develop and implement programs designed to train Family members, promote Volunteer Corps, coordinate and support Mobilization and Deployment activities, and ACS Operations.

Duties

Prioritize needs and monitor expenditures to ensure efficient use of funds and other resources. Serve as a Unit Service Coordinator (USC), providing services to designated military units. Establish current and long-range program plans considering the mission of the installation, troop strength, budget, staff and facilities. Maintain liaison with civilian and military-related social and human services organizations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Background/records checks, IAW DoDI 1402.05, AR 608-18 (MPs – NCIC, ASAP, ACR and State Child Protective Services) and Army directive 2014-23, IMCOM G9 Memorandum, dated 26 June 2015directing a CNACI.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as sociology. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1).Coordinate services according to the well-being of clients needs within the local community; 2) Generate reports from computerized databases to analyze statistics regarding the budgetary program requirements; 3). Ensure standard operating procedures outline program services offered to meet the needs of the community; and 4). Assign work to personnel based on mission requirements to ensure organizational deadlines are met. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
