You will serve as a SUPPLY MANAGEMENT OFFICER in the MATERIAL READINESS BRANCH of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.

Duties

You will oversee the supply and service programs for the Base and serviced activities, which include such functions as inventory management, warehouse and storage management, stock control requirements determination, receipt and issues of supplies. You will ensure optimum supply support to commands and tenant activities assigned to Marine corps Base Quantico, VA or located within the Marine Corps National Capital Region (MCNCR). You will manage resources to promote economy and to ensure the application to satisfy programmed requirements and improve physical facilities associated with supply and logistics services. You will maintain overview of program accomplishment, budget execution, and manpower utilization, and based on needs and trends; recommends, initiates, or takes appropriate action.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of supply programs and/or operations AND performing independent analyses to resolve difficult issues and problems, involving supply processes, work methods, supply data management, or day-to-day operational procedures.
