About the Position: Serve as a Supply Management Specialist and as the Property Book Officer for US Army Criminal Investigation Division Field Offices with responsibility for assisting the Assistant Director for Logistics, Facilities & Maintenance (G-4) with planning the property accountability or supply program, providing supply management support to CID as well as overseas geographically disbursed at various locations world-wide deployed in support of Combatant Commander Warfighting efforts.

Duties

Serve as Property Book Officer and manage property accountability utilizing automated systems. Account for equipment through the proper issue, receipt, and transfer of equipment. Provide guidance and training to primary hand receipt holders and logistics personnel to resolve discrepancies discovered during inventories. Provide advice on supply systems, requirements, procedures, and policy to assure understanding and compliance with requirements and regulations. Ensure all non-standard equipment purchased for use, not assigned a material number, is submitted for the assignment of a material number to enable cradle to grave accountability. Evaluate supply programs to resolve problem areas and material management weaknesses. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures governing operations, monitors operations to detect and correct problems, and personally intervenes in sensitive or critical transactions which may impact units at the organization level.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position authorizes the incumbent to have access to firearms and ammunition. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition.
  • Physical exam required. Incumbent is required to lift boxes of evidence that weights up to 70 pounds to working heights of 48 inches.
  • Job may require shift work with normal 8-hour shifts but may require working extended 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week.
  • These positions may require extended Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) or deployment to contingency or humanitarian relief areas, worldwide, in support of the mission of CID.
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, must maintain a license while employed in the position and will be required to operate a motor vehicle in accordance with applicable OPM regulations and related requirements.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: AccountabilityPlanning and EvaluatingSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
