This position serves the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Branch Chief within the Mitigation Division of Region VIII as a Financial Management Specialist coordinating and evaluating Spend Plans, grant awards and obligations. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial management or analysis, communicating with other regional and HQ branches and divisions for financial management coordination, and experience with analyzing and interpreting data for senior management decision-making.

To qualify for this Financial Management Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
Analyzing and evaluating data and/or operating programs to generate reports and make recommendations to senior leadership; and
Managing the operations of financial management systems; and
Utilizing practices, methods and/or techniques of accounting and/or auditing to conduct evaluations of financial programs.
