You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (PIPEFITTER) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, CODE 960 PIPE SHOP of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will be responsible for all Shop planning for an assigned project (e.g., all machinery, auxiliary, weapons, test, or nuclear work) where assigned.
You will perform all planning required for the trade of a pipefitter and assist in other trade work.
You will provide a central point of contact to facilitate communication between the Zone Managers, Foreman, Shops, and Technical Codes to ensure continuous work progress.
You will project schedule in order to stage all Technical Work Documents (TWDs) and supporting documentation and material needed to support accomplishment of the task.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Coordinating the packaging, assembling, accomplishing Readiness Reviews, releasing the record reviews, which accompany the Task Group Instructions (TGI's)/ Technical Work Documents (TWD's).
Scheduling and leading Readiness Reviews for applicable TWDs.
Determining what quality assurance and support documentation is necessary to complete jobs by using applicable software programs.
Reviewing material problems and initiating necessary corrective actions.
Interpreting blueprint sketches, drawings, technical instructions, and work orders.
