The selectee for this position will serve as a Pipefitter Supervisor I, Pipe Shop, Production Resources Department PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will serve as a first line supervisor performing related duties in the removal, reinstallation, alteration, conversion, cleaning, testing, and flushing of piping systems and components.
You will perform various personnel functions to include performance ratings, leave request actions, disciplinary or commendatory actions, promotions, demotions, grievances, and provide beneficial suggestions.
You will review or assist in on-the-job training and supplement programs through observations or employee recommendations.
You will attend training programs, supervisor's conferences and transfer applicable information to subordinates.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Determining sequence, priorities, and deadlines of scheduled assignments.

Resolving work problems and take action to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages and other causes by delay and inefficiency.
Maintaining records of individual time, man hours expended on work operations, causes of accident and injuries with corrective action to prevent reoccurrence.
