Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to CBP management. This position starts at a salary of $81,963.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $127,707.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $127,707 (GS-12 Step 10). In this position, you will strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by becoming a valuable member of a team of administrative professionals. Your job may include: Conducting inventories and records management in accordance with local and higher headquarters directives and preparing various property reports. Reviewing bills on a monthly basis to prevent overcharging and misuse, and ensuring appropriate forms are completed for Personnel Equipment. Researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods/services, then preparing required document and submitting for approval. Performing basic supplies research and performing basic tasks associated with creating requisitions and forwarding for approval. Identifying inventory deficiencies and restocking supplies as needed. Coordinating facilitates repairs and ensuring facility repairs requests are recorded into the facilities management system. Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Conducting inventory and record management in accordance with local and higher headquarters directives and preparing various property reports; Performing basic supply research, and performing basic tasks associated with creating requisitions and forwarding for approval; Identifying inventory deficiencies and restocking supplies as needed; Processing of damaged vehicles, scheduling of repairs, and invoice reconciliation process; Overseeing minor changes to the land based telephone system and submitting change/repair requests for all other land-based telephone issues. Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Providing local agency direction and facilitating the creating, accepting, modifying, and transferring of personal property records in accordance with directives; Researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods/services, then preparing required documentation and submit for approval; Executing purchases, conducting reconciliation, and maintaining documentation as directed by the Purchase Card Manual; Conducting various activities within the agency's Fleet card program to include ordering cards, performing audits, extracting reports, reporting fraud, and processing override requests; Coordinating facility repairs and ensuring facility repairs requests are recorded into the facilities management system. Education Substitution GS-11: A Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree, three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.M. degree from an accredited college or university may substitute for experience required at this level. (A course of study in business, international business, or a related field is qualifying.) Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours. Combining Education and Experience: To combine your education and experience, you must convert each to a percentage, and then add the percentages. The combined total of your percentage of education and experience must equal at least 100% in order to qualify. If your education is currently described in quarter hours, convert the quarter hours into semester hours by multiplying the quarter hours by the fraction 2/3. To calculate your percentage of graduate education, divide the number of graduate semester hours by 18. To determine your percentage of qualifying experience, you must divide your total number of months of qualifying experience by the required number of months of experience. Add your percentages of education and experience. The two percentages must total at least 100%. Education Substitution GS-12: There is no education substitution at this grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/03/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
