This position is located in the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO), Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The mission of the OCISO is to provide leadership, vision, definition and oversight of FDIC information security, cybersecurity and privacy programs. Duties

Identify and enable the use of technology to maintain and continuously improve threat detection capabilities. Coordinate with Cyber Defense Analysts to manage and administer the updating of rules and signatures for specialized cyber defense applications. Develop, manage, configure and test specialized cyber defense systems. Manage rules/signatures, access controls, and configurations of platforms managed by service provider(s).

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here.  To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 13 grade level or above in the Federal service.   Specialized experience is defined as experience planning, architecting, testing, maintaining, reviewing, and configuring security tools such as SIEM, EDR, CNAPP, CSPM, NIPS, DSPM, WAF, and Database Activity Monitoring technologies.
