Duties
As a Public Health Advisor you will:
Serve as principal Public Health Technical Advisor to the assigned National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) program (s) in maintaining existing programs and initiatives and developing new ones that are in accordance with CDC public health program goals, objectives and policies.
Conduct complex evaluation studies on one-of-a-kind or controversial operating public health programs having far-reaching bureau or department-wide impact and serve as senior level evaluator.
Serve as the technical contracting officer's representative (COR) for contracts and/or technical monitor or project officer for grants or cooperative agreements.
Develop close working relationship with program offices from all United States Government (USG) agencies and senior staff of collaborating partner agencies to monitor and support partners in meeting all objectives and outputs.
Consult with other public health advisors, health officers, senior program officials, and other government agency officials regarding the integration and coordination of USG-supported activities and resources in support of public health, disease prevention and health promotion, and community health services throughout the country.
Supervise a small contingent of positions.
Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, when encessary.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: managing and supervising staff; developing and overseeing budgets; and managing and evaluating procurements, including cooperative agreements, contracts, or interagency agreements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
