You will serve as a Production Machinery Mechanic in the Facility & Equipment Maintenance Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will repair, maintain, install and overhaul a variety of complex multi-axis, multi-function production machinery and equipment.
You will install, align, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and test usually complex equipment and machinery.
You will troubleshoot machinery/equipment malfunctions by applying knowledge of machinery and mechanical principles and use of test equipment.
You will test equipment and isolate source of defective operation or cause of breakdown.
You will direct the work of trainee personnel for on-the-job-training.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

I am considered an expert in the Production Machinery Mechanic trade and I am consulted by other employees in difficult situations. I have the ability to perform the duties of a Production Machinery Mechanic as demonstrated by working under limited supervision including: 1) Installs, aligns, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and test unusually complex equipment and machinery such as a numerically controlled five-axis machining center; 2) Troubleshoot machinery/equipment malfunctions by applying knowledge of machinery and mechanical principles, and use of test equipment; 3) Locates and isolates source of defective operation or cause of breakdown; 4) Performs operational and functional tests to ensure proper and safe operation.
