You will serve as a Supervisory Intelligence Specialist in the Intelligence Division, Strategy and Plans Branch of HQ US MARINE CORPS. All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

Serves as the Deputy Branch Chief, which shares fully in the duties, responsibilities, and authorities of the Branch Chief Information Intelligence Integration (III) Branch, Intelligence Division, Deputy Commandant for Information. Supports intelligence requirements and capabilities, planning, development, and integration and coordination in the development of intelligence systems architecture and GEOINT, SIGINT, Meteorology, Oceanography, and Electronic Warfare Programs. Responsible for planning, directing, assigning, leading, and monitoring work; hiring or selecting employees; managing and appraising employees' performance; and supporting the development of employees. Manages budgetary resources on behalf of Marine Corps Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Enterprise (MCISRE) programs. Technically responsible for the development and coordination of Marine Corps Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Enterprise (MCISRE) plans, policies, and governance issues and ensures their timely implementation. Liaises extensively with senior level peers and customers within and across the Marine Corps, DoD, and various activities throughout the IC to address emerging real-world developments impacting the intelligence mission.

Requirements

  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to do so may result in the withdrawal of an offer or removal. Indicate the level and date of your clearance in your resume.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position requires periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a 2-year DCIPS trial period.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining the calendars and schedules, arranging travel, training and preparing management for travel and training; 2) Analyzing and evaluating the administrative operational procedures and requirements for organizational efficiency and productivity; 3) Preparing and managing the budget, spending plan and monthly and quarterly execution reviews for office; and, 4) Reviewing and edits all command correspondence and other written material for adherence to the Naval Correspondence Manual format, grammar, accuracy, consistency and substance.
