About the Position: This position is with the Headquarters Department of Army, Staff and Field Operating Agencies Family Programs located in Arlington, VA.
This is a TERM Not to exceed 2 years position.
Duties
Improve the financial readiness of the force and family through program evaluation, assessment, and research.
Develop and/or monitor financial literacy and preparedness training and readiness in the agency at specific career and life events of Service members.
Build and strengthen working relationships and arrangements with the appropriate staffs of the other financial education agencies,
Monitor changes in laws and regulations governing consumer credit and assess the impact of these changes on protections afforded Service members and their families.
Participate in working groups as required to review training, readiness, and education materials.
Conduct ongoing program assessments and identify program successes and shortfalls
Prepare and submit results of the annual financial literacy and preparedness report for submission.
Manage a comprehensive financial education on financial services available under law.
Manage the requirements of the financial literacy training and readiness program for Service members.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position may require temporary duty (TDY) business travel of approximately 25%.
- Employee must obtain and maintain a current nationally recognized financial counselor certification in accordance with DoDI 1342.22 and Service requirements within one year from start date.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and/or monitoring financial education on financial services and/or under law, financial services; assisting in the development of evaluation policies, and/or programs; and evaluating financial readiness programs or polices to make recommendations to leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
