Duties
Identifies vulnerabilities in the network systems and assesses the degree of compliance with regulatory requirements.
Evaluates network software, hardware, bandwidth, and communications link, specifications, and installation.
Leads the team in identifying, distributing, and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level, and specialization.
Monitors the technical work of the contractors, and through quality assurance and inspection of deliverables, ensures that technical requirements are being met.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants applying for the GS-14 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the four competencies AND specialized experience listed below:
Attention to Detail - Experience in multiple IT disciplines sufficient to review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs.
Customer Service - Demonstrates expert skill in working with managers and customers, throughout the bureau and department to resolve all technical issues to identify/diagnose problems and establish system standards and documentation to measure and evaluate results.
Oral Communication - Application in oral and written communication to provide directions to and evaluation of systems being managed.
Problem Solving - Application of IT systems principles, concepts, and methods to allow for management of Infrastructure Protection environment sufficient to develop long range plans for IT security systems, Enterprise IT Architecture and New IT security developments.
AND Have at least 1 full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing technical guidance and recommendations to management regarding information technology hardware/software resources.
Experience developing contingency and recovery plans.
Experience providing third-tier troubleshooting support.
NOTE: In order to qualify for this position, your experience MUST be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
