Duties
As a Supervisory Public Health Advisor you will:
Act as a Deputy to the Branch Chief and assist in managing the Branch activities.
Provide guidance to the Branch Chief and Division Director in the formulation of national and international program goals, objectives, and operating policies related to investigations and evaluation of infectious diseases affecting mobile populations; maintains close review and coordination of key prevention activities among international, national, state, and local health organizations.
Provide guidance in the formulation of international and national program goals, objectives, and operating policies.
Develop and coordinate implementation of action plan(s) to improve prevention strategies.
Identify and establish strategic linkages through meetings and conferences between public health program at the local, State, national levels.
Develop and implement long range goals and objectives for the Branch and devises methods to ensure accomplishment.
Qualifications
Requirements continued:
Must be able to qualify for unrestricted access to secure areas at U.S. ports.
Must be able to qualify for an official US passport.
Must possess a valid State government-issued driver's license.
Subject to temporary duty assignment at any location in the United States and its territories or possessions, in foreign countries, or at sea.
Required to be current in his or her immunizations as per ACIP guidelines.
Must undergo baseline and periodic health screening procedures such respiratory fit testing and PPD test for tuberculosis exposure.
Subject to frequent travel using government, domestic or foreign modes of air, land and sea transportation.
Supervisory position: Yes: Since this is a supervisory position, candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. A supervisory probationary period may be required. Applicants should describe any previous experience or responsibilities which could be used in relation to the supervisory requirements of this position.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing and implementing strategies to achieve international or national goals and objectives related to investigations and studies on infectious diseases affecting mobile populations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
