About the Position: This position is located at Fort Knox, Hardin, Kentucky.
Duties
Manages timely referral processing, retrieval and tracking of referral results (Clearly Legible Reports).
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of TRICARE benefits, policies, and procedures.
Confirms accuracy and consistency of enrollee information within the Defense Enrollment and Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and MHS Genesis.
Advises beneficiaries regarding the services available in the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) and how to access those services.
Maintains an in-depth current and sound working knowledge of the TRICARE benefits, medical management principles and referral management policies.
Works with the benefit counselor to support client understanding of his/her healthcare benefits.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Performing clerical duties such as: filing, office automation, or searching duties that effect the efficiency of the daily operations of the serviced organization; 2) assisting with the referral processing and tracking of referral results in accordance with established policies and guidelines for patients requiring medical care services AND 3) Advising beneficiaries regarding how to access the services available. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).

Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
