Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as leadership, oversight or expertise in reducing pollution and implementing environmental policies and programs or in the application of relevant Clean Air Act regulation and policies; leading others and achieving results; establishing and monitoring performance of a team and advancing program outcomes. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of guidance related to the implementation of the rules and regulations under the clean air act or the implementation of environmental policies and programs Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of subordinate organizational units. Ability to mentor, motivate, and appraise staff. Skill in written communication. Skill in oral communication. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
