You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) within HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.
Duties
You will provide traditional network security protection by ensuring best security network design practices are adhered.
You will update computer images with the latest software and network tools.
You will analyze Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) policy , deploy HBSS clients, and perform asset baseline management.
You will perform technical evaluations for system/network changes for sound security practices.
You will provide Incident Response support, to include investigations, DoD Network and Theater security incidents, and Network Operations (NETOPS) reporting and notifications.
You will support, maintain and monitor network firewalls, security tools and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
Requirements

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code IAT proficiency level III the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

GS-12:
In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes:
1. Developing, implementing, and managing a computer network defense program, including policies, procedures, and standards per industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
2. Monitoring network and enclave traffic within a DoD environment.
3. Experience utilizing Comply-to-Connect (C2C), Zero-Trust, and Incident Response.
4. Must have a working knowledge of Security Information and Event Management (SEIM), Endpoint Security Solutions, Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
5. Managing, configuring, and tuning Endpoint Security (ENS).
6. Performing technical evaluations for systems/network changes for sound security practices.
GS-11:
In addition to the experience demonstrating the four competencies above, Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes:
1. Managing a computer network defense program, including policies, procedures, and standards per industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
2. Monitoring network and enclave traffic within a DoD environment.
3. Familiar with Comply-to-Connect (C2C) and Incident Response.
4. Must be familiar with Security Information and Event Management (SEIM), Endpoint Security Solutions, Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
5. Tuning Endpoint Security (ENS).

Education
Education Substitution for Experience at the GS-11 Level:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
OR possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR have completed 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR possess an LL.M., if related
OR a combination of graduate education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience
