This position is located in the Office of the Deputy Chief Information Officer for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronics Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO), within the Office of the Deputy of VA (DEPSECVA). The VA EHRM-IO is responsible for ensuring that VA successfully prepares for, deploys, and transitions to, a new Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Duties
Major Duties
Participate in the establishment of system-wide and local monitors and controls to meet federal government and industry standards and direct recommended and accepted risk.
Manage the coordination of assigned EHRM-IO mission-related IT system solution goals and facilitate adjustments as appropriate.
Manage the implementation of project plans to meet planned IT system solution objectives.
Work with business customer stakeholders and determine prospective products or services that will meet customer IT requirements.
Analyze information systems requirements, architectures, or environments to create an IT project and technical plan.
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 am- 4:00 pm

Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-13 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to knowledge and experience in any of the following Information Technology project management disciplines such as analysis, project planning, budgeting, cost analysis, acquisition, configuration management, data management, information systems, network security, and IT architecture. Applicants should possess a working knowledge of the hardware, software, operating systems, and peripherals available in the industry to analyze and develop efficient solutions.

Demonstrated experience in Information Technology (IT); Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

The experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
