About the Position: Located at HEADQUARTERS AND HEADQUARTERS COMPANY, 3RD BRIGADE COMBAT TEAM, Fort Johnson LA.
This is a Temporary position intended to last 14-Jun-2025. A temporary position may be extended to a maximum of three years and may be terminated at any time during the duration of the appointment, depending upon the needs of management.
Duties
Serves as a Logistics Management Specialist in the 10th Mountain Division (LI), 3d Brigade Combat Team.
Property Book office in support of training/materiel readiness with oversight of all Brigade Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTOE) and Table of Distribution and Allowances (TDA) units.
As Property Book Officer (PBO), accounts for property requiring formal property book accounting in accordance with (IAW) Department of Army (DA) guidelines using the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A) System.
Maintain a property book supporting documents file. Ensures all property authorized is either on-hand or on valid requisition.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires occasional extended hours and weekends to facilitate the brigade combat team's property transactions and to enhance accountability.
- This position has access to weapons and ammunition and is covered by provisions of the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position requires possession and maintenance of a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
- This position is a drug testing designated position.
- This position requires business travel up to 5% of the time.
- This position requires occasional extended hours and weekends to facilitate the brigade combat team's property transactions and to enhance accountability.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Wide range of experience utilizing Logistics Information Systems to include GCSS-Army; 2) Understanding of the Army processes and roles AND property book 3). Experience in preparing briefing and fact sheets to present to high level boards and committees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
