Duties

Leads the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization. Articulates and communicates to the team the assignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion. Responsible for integrating high-level briefings, products, presentations, written and oral communications that support critical and time-sensitive strategic/operational/tactical customer and supplier matters. Researches, analyzes, and prepares remarks, note cards, comprehensive slide presentations, wide-ranging graphics handouts, and similar products. Determines items such as theme of the event and its linkage to DLA Energy's strategy, duration of presentations, other speakers and their topics, briefing material, etc.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead Management and Communications Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques. Developing and providing strategic presentations or brief to organizational leadership and stakeholders on an agency program or policy. Using qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods and techniques to identify, analyze and evaluate program milestones and initiatives. Research pertinent regulations, policies, and precedents that affect the logistic systems and logistic programs. The work is primarily sedentary and performed at a desk using a computer and telephone in a general office setting. However, at times the work requires some slight physical effort such as climbing, bending, crouching, etc.; however no special physical demands are involved in performing the work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
