Duty Location: Lower Colorado Basin Region, Lower Colorado Dams Office, Facility Services Division, Tour Operations Office, Tour Group 1 located at the Hoover Dam in Clark County, Nevada.
Duties
Manages, directs and supervises the internal day-to-day operations of Visitor Services Group 1.
Serves as liaison between Visitor Center employees and visitors on matters involving customer service and employee response.
Resolves a full range of complaints regarding visitor services, i.e., refunds, tour scheduling, unresponsiveness of employees, equipment malfunctions, etc.
Designs and develops customer service surveys to document customer satisfaction.
Provides general information to the visiting public and responds to customer complaints and questions.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for the GS-09 grade level, your resume must reflect:
One year of full time specialized experience (defined below) equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in Federal service; OR
A master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; OR
Two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to such a degree; OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related.
Specialized Experience: Your resume must reflect one year of full time experience managing or assisting in the management of a customer service program involving a tourist attraction which provides educational, interpretive, historical, or scientific/technical information. Your experience should demonstrate the ability to provide leadership, guidance and direction to subordinate staff on the resolution of customer service issues.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors, by 09/03/2024.
Education
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience. You must submit a copy of college transcript(s) (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include the name of the college or university and date the degree was conferred. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not-qualified for the position.

An official transcript must be sent directly from the University's Registrar's office and must be provided from the institution awarding the degree. Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
