Duty Location: Clark County, Nevada
Position is located at the Hoover Dam, within the Management Services Office.
Duties
The duties of the Management Support Specialist include the following:(These duties are not all inclusive)
Serving as the Time and Attendance System local administrator for Lower Colorado Dams Office (LCDO).
Serving as a liaison between LCDO, the LCR HR Office and Denver as needed to troubleshoot and resolve payroll related questions.
Supporting managers and supervisors by providing advice and guidance in the interpretation and application of administrative methods and procedures.
Serving as point of contact for authoritative information on management and administrative policies, procedures, and requirements.
Providing technical guidance and administrative support assistance to assigned program managers, supervisors, managers, and employees on a wide variety of program matters, such as training, timekeeping, travel, report data collection, and organizational goals.
Serving as a liaison within LCDO and LCB Region Human Resources (HR) Office to resolve related issues and ensure coordination of on-going recruitment, and processing of personnel actions.
Evaluating and improving office operations with varying functions performed in subordinate offices.
Preparing a variety of correspondence, forms, reports, and schedules regarding work, programs, and accomplishments using a wide variety of computer programs such as word processing, data base, directories, and spreadsheets.
Arranging the material in various formats; assembles the material in proper order; and makes changes in the text to correct grammar, improve clarity, and eliminate colloquial or idiomatic expressions.
Qualifications
To be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume.
To qualify at the GS-09, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-07 level in federal service having demonstrated experience with two or more of the following: (1) Developing professional relationships with others to achieve goals and solve problems, (2) Completing projects on administrative tasks spanning several weeks or months, or (3) conducting research using regulations or policy on administrative processes to identify improvements or answer questions. This experience is clearly reflected in my resume.
You could otherwise qualify on the basis of Education having master's or equivalent graduate degree OR two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. OR J.D., if related. This education is reflected in the transcripts submitted. You may combine specialized experience and education to meet the minimum qualifications.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including any selective placement factors if applicable, by 07/26/2024.
Education
This vacancy announcement allows substituting education for experience at the GS-09 grade level. Applicants must submit a copy of college transcript(s) (unofficial copy is acceptable) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include the name of the college or university and date the degree was conferred. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not qualified for the position.
