This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA - ACQC/TRANSPORT PEO .
Duties
Continuously evaluates the Defense Red Switch network connectivity and determines the optimum size and type of connections after analysis of bandwidth, reliability, and growth requirements. Takes immediate action to fix and restore service.
Monitors the network and infrastructure security is in compliance with standards set for by operational orders, cybersecurity security guidelines, and real-time mission requirements.
Serves as the primary government technical expert and coordinator for all DRSN related issues within the DRSN Network Operations Center.
Must be aware of daily activities and report daily to the DRSN Program Manager and Engineers any new or change that occurs to the existing DRSN network baseline.
Coordinates with Mission Partners across the Department DRSN locations and keeps them abreast of ongoing issues or changes that could impact their mission.

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in the application of the Defense Red Switch network systems design, development testing, installation, operations, management and maintenance concepts, method and procedures in fulfillment of mission and customer communication requirements.
