Duties

You will serve as a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (O/A) in the AVIATION SUPPORT DETACHMENT (N41) of the FLEET LOGISTICS SUPPORT WING DETACHMENT in NEW ORLEANS, LA. You will complete individual transactions to include replenishment actions, posting receipts and follow-up actions when required, providing customer assistance, screening reference files, conducting data searches, and distributing output files. You will perform extensive research in different automated computer programs, web information systems and catalogs to obtain stock numbers and determine substitutes for items not readily identifiable and/or differentiated from others. You will type letters, reports, tabulated material, memoranda, and other related documentation in either rough draft or final form. You will conduct research of catalog information to locate more cost effective, available substitutes and new products.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying a thorough knowledge of Naval Aviation Supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques and methods applicable to assigned support duties. Experience applying knowledge of Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) policies and procedures for requisitioning and issuing equipment and supplies. Experience applying knowledge of database processes in NALCOMIS and the associated PEB module, and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and transaction codes required to perform requisition and material reviews. Experience applying knowledge of requirements and procedures for maintaining files of supply documents.
