You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Combat Development & Integration Command of MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT CMD.

Duties

You will serve as the principal expert and advisor for all matters relative to the Command’s Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). You will perform SCI indoctrinations and education briefings for Command staff and authorized access personnel. You will identify and monitor sensitive activity security risks, report actual or possible security infractions or violations, and provide corrective actions as required. You will perform physical security functions and tasks relative to an assigned area in the security technology fields. You will plan, review, and evaluate procedures in order to carry out all assignments necessary to implement an effective security program to meet Department of Navy and national security programs requirements. You will perform a full range of administrative and supervisory duties including but not limited to work planning, evaluating performance of subordinates, and providing guidance and instruction to subordinates.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must successfully complete formal USMC Security Management Course within 90 days of assignment.
  • Must successfully complete the SSO Navy Special Security Officer Course (or equivalent) within 90 days of assignment.
  • Must be able to obtain DOD’s Security Professional Education Development (SPeD), Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Asset Protection Professional Certification (SAPPC) within two years of appointment.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TS SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) developing requirements, plans, and implementing strategies for a security program and 2) measuring, analyzing, improving, and implementing measures for a departments security regulations for classified information.
