The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a security monitor for the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) areas of the HQ 16 AF, in support of continuous operations. Provides support to the Special Security Office on a variety of tasks and services as required.

Duties
Acts as Controlled Security Monitor. Conduct and annotate hourly security checks of all primary, secondary, and emergency exits for Bldg. 2000/2007.
Acts as Controlled Access Monitor at entrances to the HQ 16 AF complex. Instructs visitors on security requirements, specifically those relating to the necessity of wearing badges and removal of all electronic devices prior to entering the facility, provides accurate information in a tactful, courteous, and articulate manner.
Escort personnel that do not have the required security clearances/accesses while in the HQ 16 facilities, including both the collateral areas and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in accordance with applicable security procedures.
Receives and answers requests for information pertaining to building and office locations, location of personnel, and other related items within HQ16 AF buildings. While escorting personnel performing work on headquarter facilities, provides updates to the facility manager of status of work.

Qualifications
This is a GG-03 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-03 duties for the "Technician/Administrative" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-03 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 6 months of general experience. Examples of general experience include progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled, such as knowledge of various office automation software processing procedures, preparing various routine correspondence/reports, maintaining files/records, and reviewing and processing mail, applying regulations, procedures, and processes referencing office administrative and clerical procedures to answer telephones, maintain files/office forms, order supplies, and general administrative guidance.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Basic knowledge of security procedures & regulations to perform duties on the security escort program.
Basic knowledge of how to apply security principles, concepts and practices concerning facilities, utility systems, supporting equipment and service operations.
Basic knowledge of safety and environmental guidance and regulations to compliance with established programs.
Basic knowledge of facility management duties and AF civil engineer processes to ensure proper work requirement identification & reporting.
Basic knowledge of the headquarters facilities and respective infrastructure systems.
Basic knowledge of intrusion detection and access control systems. Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:
Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
