You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT SUPERINTENDENT in the Service Shop (Code 990), Production Resources Department Manager (Code 901), Production Resources Department (Code 900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will analyze, evaluate, and adjust shop manpower resources, work operations, equipment, and facilities against current and future scheduled work requirements. You will participate in shipyard decisions involving the acceptance or rejection of new or emergent work. You will gather and analyze data to determine the quality, safety, cost, schedule and behavior problems in the shop and evaluate the effectiveness of corrective action. You will be responsible for carrying out EEO policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Extensive experience in total Shipyard work operations, trades and shop practices. Experience with shipyard work and operations related to all temporary services supplied during docking and pier side which includes but is not limited to air conditioning, plumping, ventilation, scaffolding, fabric working and electrical. Experience with ship repair, overhaul and shipyard work operations. Understanding the responsibility of all aspects of the work including cost, schedule, resource manning, and quality of work. Experience with supervisory responsibilities such as Employee Equal Opportunities, Labor Employee Relations, Reasonable Accommodations, investigations, hiring actions and merit principles hiring. Experience workload planning, nuclear qualified work.
