You will serve as a Government Information Specialist in the Office of the Judge Advocate General (JAC) of NLSC.

Duties
You will be responsible for case information and maintenance of the Defense Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID).
You will download each Sexual Assault Disposition Report (SADR), record the dispositions and case data on an internal Code 41 tracker, and then enter the dispositions and case data into DSAID.
You will receive and save each SADR received from US Navy and US Marine Corps commands, log each case disposition into an internal Code 41 tracker, and properly input the required information for each case into the DSAID.
You will coordinate with US Navy and US Marine Corps command Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) to obtain case updates.
You will attend official DOD and US Navy meetings regarding sexual assault reporting and DSAID issues.
You will assist the Code 41 Director and designated Military Justice Information Branch Head, in reviewing and preparing Navy and Marine Corps court-martial records for public release.
You will conduct technical, word-by-word reviews, and analyze court-martial records and make independent decisions as to what information should be properly withheld under Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act (FOIA and PA) exemptions.
You will assist the Appellate Victim Witness Liaison Program Manager with minor administrative duties.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector using knowledge of the Federal Freedom of Information Act (FIOA) and the Privacy Act (PA) to perform the following duties:1) Investigating, analyzing, and preparing requests for or providing responses to requests for information in compliance with FIOA/PA requirements;2) Performing legal research (e.g. case law, administrative law, state codes, U.S. Government regulations, directives, notices and manuals) to properly submit or process complex or unique FOIA/PA requests;3) Utilizing records management methods to ensure electronic and hardcopy records are maintained consistent with applicable regulations; and 4) Explaining and defending both orally and in writing FOIA/PA procedures to personnel within and external to your organization or corporation.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, directly related to the position being filled.
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, directly related to the position being filled.
or
LL.M., directly related to the position being filled.
