The position is located in the Epidemiology and Genetics Research Program (EGRP), within the Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) of the National Cancer Institute, administering a public health program to meet the priorities of the cancer control and population science mandate of the National Cancer Program.

Duties

Lead a team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees, monitoring and reporting on the status and progress of work. Prepare reports and maintain records of work accomplished and administrative information. Serves as a lead on intra and inter agency committees and work groups as a conduit of information between workgroups and DCCPS. Assist in organizing and participating in symposia and discussions with national and international scientific, public health and clinical practice leaders Collaborate with scientific program staff members on the development and implementation of new program initiatives, innovations in structure, and communication systems. Assumes lead role in the division on agency effort to synthesize and translate complex scientific data so implementation can occur. Monitor projects and activities for programmatic compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications

In order to qualify at the GS-14 level, you must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing short and long range plans for public health programs; monitoring public health programs to ensure they are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations; providing public health program consultation and policy guidance; coordinating negotiations between public health stakeholders; establishing and maintaining working relationships and cooperation with multiple public heath stakeholders; and providing leadership and direction to other staff in accomplishing work activities.
