As a Public Health Analyst you will serve as an expert analyst in developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating current or projected complex, interrelated public health programs; and, serve on the management team with responsibility for day-to-day operations of the office and as the principal advisor on the administrative aspects of program operations to resolve matters that are often controversial or complicated (e.g., restructuring resources to meet increasing demands).
Duties
Serve as an expert analyst in developing, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating current or projected complex, interrelated public health programs involving governmental and non-governmental organizations from multiple sectors at the community, State, national and/or international levels.
Prepare directives, issuances, memoranda, policy statements, and legislative proposals to introduce new initiatives and to recommend effective operations consistent with overall program objectives.
Analyze existing or proposed systems, strategies, services, or other health-related matters for long range implementation and administration of the public health program.
Serve as a principal advisor in developing and formulating short and long range public health program goals, objectives, and policies.
Analyze complex public health policies, programs, and statistical standards to advise senior management on public health policies, operations, products, and services.
Develop and apply new or revised program methods, organizational structures, and technologies to carry out program objectives.
Exercise management responsibilities related to the initiation, administration, and/or close out of grants and cooperative agreements.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for a Public Health Analyst, GS-0685 position at the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: coordinating studies related to the planning, development, organization, administration, evaluation, and delivery of public health programs; developing short and long range plans for a public health program; providing recommendations on future public health efforts based on statistical analyses; and coordinating advisory planning committees or workgroups to discuss public health programs.
