You will serve as a WHITE HOUSE LIAISON SPECIALIST in the White House and Congressional Liaison Office of OFFSECNAV WASHINGTON DC.
Duties
You will receives, delegate, and track White House correspondence to and from the Department of the Navy (DON).
You will inform the supervisor of all action items requiring immediate attention due to a sensitive nature of the correspondence or the response time involved, as necessary.
You will coordinate White House Events / Invites and Messages for the President or Vice President.
You will serve as the principal point of contact for coordinating Navy representation for high-level White House events from inception through closing phase.
You will performs substantive editing and drafting of official invitations and Presidential Proclamations from commands addressed to the President, Vice President, and First Lady.
You will provide coordination and liaison on behalf of the DON for Notification of Death packages and prepare condolence letter correspondence creation on behalf of SECDEF, POTUS, and/or VPOTUS.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience receiving, delegating, and tracking official correspondence to ensure correspondence is in line with agency policies and directives;
Experience performing substantive editing and drafting of official invitations and proclamations; and
Experience serving as a main point of contact for coordinating agency representation for high level events from start to finish.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
