This is an exciting position located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), Information Technology Division (ITD), Infrastructure Management Branch (IMB). This role serves as the senior staff member and technical authority, in Information Technology (IT), to support the IMB Branch Chief and leads the planning, evaluation, procurement and implementation of IT AOC-wide and provides technical assistance to all IT users.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
Candidates for the GS-13 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as the following:
(1) Expert experience in applying IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices in order to plan and carry out assignments, providing advice and guidance on complex information technology matters.
(2) Professional knowledge of microcomputers, networks, network operating systems and management information systems, both in theory and in an application.
(3) Skilled in developing and implementing methodologies to seamlessly implement highly complex heterogeneous network (LAN) services.
(4) Expert in assessing new technologies and the ability to adapt these technologies to specific applications
(5) Strong oral and written communication skills.
Education
***AT LEAST A BACHELOR'S DEGREE FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OR A RELATED FIELD IS PREFERRED***
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
