This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Lead and determine the clinical operations of the program and day-to-day programmatic functioning of PCT staff. Ensure implementation of VA PTDS Specialty Care Guidelines. Ensure specialty PTSD workload and Measurement Based Care (MBC) is appropriately coded and captured within the Veteran's medical record. Utilize administrative time for duties such as leading team meetings, program development, consulting with providers, data tracking/management, responding to consults, and providing consultation. Ensure that team members provide PTSD specialty services that are Veteran centric, that include evaluation to guide treatment planning, and aid in determining both appropriate treatment in specialty care based on the primary presenting symptoms diagnosis and treatment goals. Develops and implements local policy and practice development, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program as prescribed by the program handbook or national directive. Fulfill programmatic requirements as outlined in program directive and any appropriate national guidance. Ensure that the PTSD team provides time-limited specialty care focused specifically on PTSD symptom reduction. Prioritize the offering of evidence-based treatments for PTSD recommended by the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines. Ensure minimal barriers to admission for PCTs if a Veteran needs PTSD treatment and having the ability to treat complex presentations and comorbidities. Organizes work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). Coordinate interdisciplinary staffing, work assignments, budget, treatment services provided, and admission criteria for the program. Oversee program operations and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, gathering relevant data, assessing the data, developing, and implementing ideas for improvement, and evaluating efficacy of improvement efforts. Collaborates with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance patient centered care. Provides the full range of supervisory duties including assignment of work to be performed; performance evaluations; and selection of staff, training, and recommendation of awards, advancements, and when appropriate, disciplinary action. Maintains knowledge of organizational structure and impact on PTSD Clinical Team operations. Utilizes knowledge of community resources, makes referrals to the community and other government agencies as appropriate, and coordinates services. Independently conducts psychosocial assessments and treatment interventions to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diversified backgrounds. Assess and diagnose mental disorders, particularly PTSD, and conduct specialized psychosocial evaluations to assess for and diagnose PTSD. Performs individual, group, and/or family counseling and psychotherapy utilizing advance level psychosocial assessments and/or case management as appropriate. Treat mental disorders, particularly PTSD, through a variety of modalities; especially evidence-based psychotherapies. Provides consultation, education, and advocacy. Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, may be required to work weeknights and/or weekends depending on the program/agency need. Qualifications

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. English Language Proficiency: You must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f) Education: You must possess a master's degree in Social Work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the school of social work is fully accredited. Note: A doctoral degree in Social Work may NOT be substituted for the master's degree in Social Work. License or Certification: You must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Grade Determinations: Social Worker (Program Coordinator) GS-0185-13 Licensure Requirement: You must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure. Experience Requirement: You must possess one year of experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Examples of specialized experience include, but are not limited to: Serving as the sole practitioner in a specialty program and typically provide direct patient care services in the program area; oversees the daily operation of the program, develop policies and procedures for program operation, and prepare reports and statistics; may be responsible for the program's budget, developing and monitoring staff compliance with practice, standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice and service delivery; provides analysis and evaluation of clinical program data and computerized programs to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance the quality of service. Experience must demonstrate possession of advanced practice skills and judgment, demonstrating progressively more professional competency. In addition to the experience above, you must demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skill in coordinating and implementing one or more specialty program(s), across the facility. Skill in local policy and practice development, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program as prescribed by the program handbook or national directive. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners to further program goals and enhance patient centered care. Ability to provide the full range of supervisory duties including assignment of work to be performed; performance evaluations; and selection of staff, training, and recommendation of awards, advancements, and when appropriate, disciplinary action. Ability to oversee the fiscal matters of the functions supervised (including fund controls, contracts, and equipment expenditures), forecast resource and equipment needs, and administer the allocated budget. Knowledge of organizational structure and impact on program operations. Driver's License: This position requires a valid state driver's license and local travel to provide community-based care to Veterans. The position requires some travel in the community, through use of a government vehicle or other individual arrangements, to meet with representatives/stakeholders who provide assistance and support to Veterans in clinics, medical centers, Community Clinics, etc. Preferred Experience: Experience with consult management and care coordination for Veterans seeking outpatient PTSD specialty treatment. Training in one or more Evidence Based Practice psychotherapies for PTSD treatment. Five or more years of experience providing treatment for Veterans with PTSD. Physical Requirements: Must be in overall good health, able to sit at a desk working at a computer, engage in light to moderate physical activity including sitting, walking, bending, and carrying supplies. Social Worker must be able to perform primarily light and sedentary duties with occasionally moderate physical demands, exercise patience, and control emotions, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary, without endangering the health and safety of the social worker or others. Position requires walking throughout the clinic and/or Medical Center, standing for extended periods of time, and involves sitting at a computer and in counsel and consultation with Veterans and interdisciplinary teams. This position requires a valid state driver's license and local travel to provide community-based care to Veterans. The position requires some travel in the community, through use of a government vehicle or other individual arrangements, to meet with representatives/stakeholders who provide assistance and support to Veterans in clinics, medical centers, Community Clinics, etc. This position also requires close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and repetitive motions of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
