About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Strategic Systems Support Element (SSSE), HQ's Element, Alexandria, Virginia.

Duties

Serve as the Preservation of the Force and Family Program Manager responsible for overseeing, managing, coordinating, and implementing the execution and evaluation of the program. Serve as POTFF Contracting Officer representative, ensuring full coordination, cooperation, and communication among the POTFF contractors, Contracting Officer, and concerned Government personnel. Maintain a referral system for human resource programs through a network of various federal, state, local and private agencies. Gather information, assembles and integrates different software types to produce documents, briefing charts, viewgraphs, for review, briefings and information dissemination to high-ranking officials within and outside of the organization. Serve as the director of formal training of volunteers and command personnel in areas of family readiness. Enlist volunteers to work with the family support groups, and to instruct and train units, soldiers, and their families. Plan and monitor expenditures from the Non- Appropriated Funds (NAF) for the family support program. Directly engage with soldiers and their families for such services as relocation packets, housing information, assistance and information on available health care programs and other needs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance based on an SSBI.
  • Must pass the organization's Personnel Reliability Program which includes credit check, drug screening, polygraph and psychological evaluation.
  • Incumbent must sign a statement attesting to the understanding of DCIPS provisions.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
  • May be required to work overtime or irregular hours.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450)

Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Scheduling and coordinating briefings and/or workshops. 2. Preparing newsletters, rosters and/or reports. 3. Providing administrative support involving readiness service; and/or utilizing community resources and social service agencies to aid all aspects of family readiness. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS/GG-11).
