You will serve as an ACADEMIC COORDINATOR (OA) in the NAVAL WAR COLLEGE Department of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.

Duties

You will process applications through the Student Information System (SIS), admitting and registering those that meet program eligibility criteria. You will develop a detailed knowledge of all four CDE academic programs to determine the correct application of transfer credit and student placement in courses students require to achieve the JPME I certification. You will build GDP admission packages for review by NWC GDP Selection Board. You will review work performed by office automation clerks for accuracy and completeness, to include grades, student record updates, and JPME I certification entries. You will assist with short-fused office automation tasks or reassign tasks when clerks are on approved leave or otherwise unavailable for work. You will assess and process all incoming student transcripts for transfer credit to ensure official transcripts are valid, and that credit is awarded in accordance with NWC and NECHE standards. You will analyze requests for information and then create the database profiles needed to retrieve information for internal or external stakeholders. You will prepare mass emails to deliver information required by students for graduation in accordance with academic policy. You will serve as the program's post-graduation point of contact for all student related documentation and credentialing issues and for handling other customer service requests.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing administrative support functions associated with planning, coordinating, organizing, and management of an academic program; 2) Advising on program requirements, reviewing records to determine if requirements are met, and maintaining documentation to support program requirements; 3) Using an online student information, administration, or management system to monitor and manage student enrollment and placement in courses including correctly prioritizing waitlists; and 4) Maintaining office records according to rules, regulations, and policies.
