The primary purpose of this position is responsible for base level accountability of sensitive information technology equipment and asset management operations and support of the installations information technology equipment, computers, network equipment and all other IT equipment assets; performs the receiving, acceptance, distribution/accountability of all IT assets.
Duties
Performs Information Technology Asset Management for Eglin Air Force Base. As the Base Equipment Control Officer, manages accountability of IT equipment; uses automated centralized databases and accountability systems to track, control and manage equipment throughout its life cycle
Operates the Central Receiving Function for the receipt and delivery of IT equipment. Operates and manages the Information Technology (IT) Depot central receiving facility; receives and secures IT assets from delivery/trucking service; inventories, documents and establishes initial chain of accountability of received IT assets
Performs as Base Software License Manager. As the base-level software license manager (BSLM) manages accountability of reportable software; uses automated centralized databases and accountability systems to track, control and manage installed reportable software throughout its life cycle; monitors the approved product listing and mandatory purchase sources to stay abreast of approved products
Provides customer support, assistance, training, and orientation. Provides technical assistance to property custodians and Unit Software License Managers. Proactively assists with locating IT equipment and software

- Required for the DoD position held, within six months of filling position IAW DoD 8570.01-M
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours. Overtime may be required.
- Recall to duty may be a requirement of this position. Overtime and/or emergency overtime may be required.
- Employee will be required to possess a valid operator’s license to drive a motor vehicle.
- Employee will be required to perform additional duties as assigned by the Branch Chief, Flight Chief or Commander.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
This standard allows eligibility through meeting either the requirements specified in the section titled Education or the requirements specified in the section titled Experience.
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in the interpretation and application of DoD, Joint, and AF management principles, concepts, methodologies and ITAM directives, procedures, guidance, and policy.
Knowledge of IT hardware and software and its application and use throughout the various missions and organizations.
Knowledge of the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS) to receive, add, transfer and excess IT assets; to manage account information to include equipment custodians, office symbols, active and inactive accounts and inventory status.
Knowledge of ITAM inventory procedures and ability to prepare inventory reports.
Skill in providing advice and technical guidance to representatives from installation organizations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from other through tact, courtesy, diplomacy and competency.
Additional Information
Work will require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and to attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Employees will carry light items, such as papers, books, or small parts, or drive a motor vehicle. Work will require extended periods of standing, walking, stretching, bending, stooping, or carrying a variety of computer and communications equipment which may weigh as much as 45 pounds. Requires capability to operate a forklift, pallet jacks and warehouse equipment.
Some work areas are adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. Employee will occasionally be exposed to conditions that may be uncomfortable in a warehouse environment with no temperature controls.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
