Duties
As a Public Health Analyst (Policy) you will:
Performs independent public health policy research, and or public health policy evaluation, as well as other programmatic activities to further organization's goals and objectives. Maintains a high level of knowledge related to health /public health policies. Applies public health principles to policy research. Provides leadership, expert technical advice, and coordination in policy research and policy development that will influence public health practice. This includes research and development in best practices for state-based public health programs and other funded and unfunded partners as well as research to facilitate opportunities for public health program implementation.
Coordinates complex evaluation tasks such as the application of agency, department, and/or government-wide evaluation efforts including PART or other inquiries, audits, or reports conducted by the Department, CRS, or GAO, and is responsible for ensuring completeness and quality of the organization's submissions to these efforts. Serves as an advisor to senior leadership on matters related to internal and external program evaluations. Ensures that evaluation measures reflect that organization's short and long-term goals as well as the organization's mission.
Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work, when necessary. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, considering difficulty and requirements of assignments as well as the capabilities of employees. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience:broad range program management, technical assistance, working wit epidemiological studies, administrative management and/or designing, researching, planning and initiating of epidemiologic and related public health studies, surveys and investigations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
