About the Position: The position is located at the USAG Directorate of FMWR ACS Division" is located 100 miles south of Atlanta and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, AL. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking is available.

Duties

Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist with professional and technical responsibility for assisting Commanders with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and Family needs. Serves as unit service coordinator, providing services to a designated military units. Develops, implements and manages installation ACS services, establishing goals, objectives and procedures IAW applicable State, DoD, DA and other federal guidance, regulations and laws. Establishes, implements, assigns and manages Soldier and Family Readiness service delivery procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and meet community needs. Consults with on and off site community leadership officials on Soldier and Family Readiness services and related issues. Designs and establishes marketing and public relations strategies to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities. Serve as the lead Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) POC.

Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Sociology, Social Worker, or Psychology. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing and understanding concepts, polices, principles as it pertains to social services ; utilizes social services delivery systems; and provide family support services related to transitioning, relocation, and family quality of life concerns or issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Sociology, Social Worker, or Psychology. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer ServiceEducation and TrainingInformation ManagementPlanning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
