About the Position: This position is located at the Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCOE), Fort Moore, Ga. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.

Duties

Develop or participates in the development of local policies, procedures and directives. Serve as a manager of the installation Suicide Prevention Program. Serve as a manager of the installation Risk Reduction Program Develop and administer an installation-wide ASAP prevention and education program. Serve as the EAP Manager. Serve as Drug Testing Program Manager

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Supervisory probation may be required.

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Army Substance Abuse Program Prevention Branch Chief: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Social Work. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes oversees the drug testing team ensuring adherence to strict quality control measures; ensures appropriate substance abuse prevention education is available; assists the ADCO to prepare local plan of action for special projects/programs; assures EAP services and appropriate referrals are provided. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications and MediaEducation and TrainingOral CommunicationTeaches OthersTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
