The woodcrafter's primary purpose is to perform the full range of tasks associated with installation, maintenance, renovation, and repair of all structures; walls, ceilings, doors, floors, masonry, and furniture.
Duties
Incumbent performs interior and exterior building operations, repair and maintenance work. Duties include work involved in constructing, altering, maintaining, and repairing buildings, metal and wood doors and door frames, structures, partitions, panels, tool cabinets, bookcases, work benches, and other items using wood, wood substitutes, and composite building materials or maintaining, installing repairing, and weatherproofing roofs. Incumbent performs carpentry work using independent judgments and decisions, and the work requires little supervisory review.
Work Schedule: Mon - Thur 6:00am - 4:30pm

.Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
Incumbent works in tiring positions for prolonged periods; frequent standing, bending and stooping, crouching and arm movement; frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 45 pounds, and may occasionally lift heavier items with assistance.
Incumbent usually works in a machine shop or enclosed area, which may be unheated; frequently exposed to eye, skin, nose and lung irritations from glue, bonding chemicals, vapors, splinters, and sawdust; possibility or receiving cuts and serious injuries such as loss of fingers from accidents while operating woodworking machines. Incumbent wears or uses safety clothing and equipment and may work in inclement weather.
