You will serve as a PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM MANAGER (PAPM) in the Program Executive Officer for STRATEGIC Submarines (PEO SSBN), in the In-Service Strategic Submarines Program Office (PMS 396) of PEO SSBN. PEO SSBN is within the Team Submarine organization and as such you will be part of the organization that eliminates traditional "stovepipe" structures and processes that created impediments and inefficiencies in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities.
Duties
You will be responsible for the configuration, testing, certification, maintenance, and life cycle support for the United States (US) OHIO Class SSBN platform.
You will serve as the primary liaison between the Submarine Fleet stakeholders and NAVSEA technical and engineers to resolve complex engineering challenges.
You will support on-going maintenance availabilities and provide day-to-day management as well as drive strategic long-term efforts.
You will serve as the Principal Assistant Program Manager, supervising and managing a team of NH-IV and NH-III personnel to support the In-Service SSBN platform.
You will oversee the supply programs that support OHIO Class submarines such as TRIPER and others that involves the major technical supply functions such as inventory management, supply cataloging.
You will also oversee the procurement, budget management, customer service, contractor liaison, classified material control and logistics support of the OHIO Class submarines.
You will serve as advisor to the Program Manager in designing acquisition strategy and program baseline and directing acquisition life cycle activities with the program office or functional area through subordinate managers and teams.
You will also advise on daily management of functions related to the large contracts such as the OHIO Class Planning Yard contract.
You will apply management and business principles to analyze situations, identify problems, probe causes and select courses of action for subordinate managers to pursue.
You will provide goals, objectives, program and general guidance for operations consistent with higher level framework/guidance.
You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by the employees in the program, setting priorities, preparing schedules for work completion, and ensuring the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing long range planning objectives to develop strategies (e.g., financial, contractual, programmatic) to support execution of submarine or ship acquisition, in-service support or modernization programs.
