This position is located in GAO's Science, Technology Assessment, & Analytics (STAA) Team. STAA is devoted to enhancing & expanding its support to Congress in conducting technology assessments, oversight of federal science and technology programs, & development of innovative analytical techniques in carrying out audits and evaluations. Duties

This is an entry-level position. You will participate in a two-year Professional Development Program that includes a combination of on-the-job and classroom training, and exposure to diverse projects within your assigned team. Throughout the program advisers will track your progress, and you will undergo progress reviews every six months. As a Management Analyst for the Science, Technology Assessment, and Analytics (STAA) team, duties include: - Assists with collection and analysis of engagement staffing data to identify resource needs and develops options, plans, and written or oral reports to ensure mission work can be sufficiently staffed. - Plans, conducts, and/or manages special projects or studies to analyze, evaluate, and provides recommendations on administrative programs or issues. - Contributes to preparation of documents, written reports, plans, and presentations to support staffing process and presents information. - Identifies data required for use in the management and direction of programs to support the maintenance of data and provision of information in the form of statistical reports, summaries, and charts. - Analyzes management information requirements data to assist with developing administrative reporting of performance metrics and evaluate processes to achieve staffing goals. - Develops procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative controls and processes. - Monitors, evaluates, and maintains content of an organization's intranet pages to ensure materials are up-to-date and consistent with GAO policies and practices. - Collaborates with staff to develop and support the implementation of processes and strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal programs and services. - Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

You must have 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower band or level equivalent to the GS-5 in the Federal Service, or comparable private/public sector experience which has equipped you with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: - Demonstrated experience supporting the evaluation of policies, programs and/or operations for efficiency and effectivness; - Knowledge of and ability to apply analytical techniques; - Demonstrated experience preparing reports, graphics, and presentations utilizing a variety of automated software and systems; and - Experience researching and gathering information for use in making data driven decisions by management. OR Have a bachelor's degree with superior Academic Achievement. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing in the upper one-third of graduating class, or (2) a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0, or (3) national honor society membership. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work; OR Have completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education that has equipped you to perform the duties of the position. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work; OR Have a combination of successfully completed graduate level education and experience that which meets the total qualification requirement for the GS-07 level.
