About the Position: Serves as the United States Army Garrison (USAG) Presidio of Monterey (POM) Cultural Resources Manager and Native American Liaison and is the primary point of contact in developing and administering the planning, design, execution, compliance and monitoring of these programs.
Duties
Ensures compliance with National Historic Preservation Act, Archeological Resources Protection Act, Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act and related Federal and State regulatory, supplemental statutory and administrative guidelines.
Prepares/approve portions of environmental impact statements and assessments related to cultural resources; coordinates with project engineers to ensure construction/renovation requirements won't adversely impact archeological and historic sites.
Function as technical expert in matters pertaining to historic legacy, preservation, and cultural resources.
Prepare, compile, and maintain comprehensive control of all reports, documents, maps, files, papers, databases, records, audiovisual materials, artifacts, and any other information deemed valid to the Cultural Resources Management (CRM) program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes;1. Identifying and analyzing the key issues in proposed regulations, standards, or guidelines., 2. Assists in cultural resources program of planning, design, construction, operation, and permit evaluation., 3. Prepares statements of work and costs estimates for cultural resource studies or services to be conducted by contractors for the Government., and 4.Advice and guidance in the fields of archeological, historical and Native American resources relative to Corps studies or projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
