This position serves as a Program Analyst in the Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD), Counterterrorism Section (CTS) in Washington, D.C. The mission of NSD is to coordinate the Department's efforts in carrying out its core mission of combating terrorism and protecting national security. NSD is responsible for supervising the enforcement of ah federal criminal laws related to counterterrorism and counterespionage, except those specifically assigned to other divisions.

The primary purpose of this position is to support a case analytics, data science or data team, which is the Department's central hub for statistical analysis on all mission-related investigations and prosecutions. Supports the collection of data from external Federal government agencies, the Federal Bureau oflnvestigation (FBI), the U.S. Attorney's Offices (USAOs), and other Department components, in support of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), Office of the Deputy Attorney General (ODAG), and the Office of the Assistant Attorney General for National Security (OAAG).A Program Analyst, at full performance level, will perform duties such as but not limited to:
Supporting management and program evaluation plans, procedures, and methodologies.
Assisting with updates, responses to inquiries and reporting utilizing Case Management Systems (CMS') for tracking international and domestic terrorism investigations, matters and cases.
Assisting in advising on the analysis, development, prioritization, and evaluation for data management.
Providing support and coordination to key participants for the long-range planning and development of organizational strategies and goal to meet objectives and mission.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
- You will be required to complete a pre-employment security investigation and background check which includes a drug screening.
- You may be required to complete a one-year probationary or two-year trial period.
- Selective Service registration is required for males born on, or after, December 31st 1959. Those not registered should have an approved exemption on file.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Program Analyst at (GS-0343-12), you must possess the required specialized experience specific to this series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
To Qualify for this GS-0343-12 position: Your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector creating reports from data analytics to identify trends and provide recommendations to leadership.
