About the Position: Be an Army Civilian - Go Army! Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission. You will be part of managing and providing the information technology network and business systems that the U.S. Army need to operate every day. You will serve as a Security Specialist for the Enterprise Business Systems - Convergence (EBS-C) by providing Agile support services for authorized customers, including government and non-government domestic and foreign.

Duties

Assist in the development of PERSEC, INFOSEC, Physical Security, AT/FP, OPSEC, Industrial Security, Security Training and Awareness, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) guidance. Provide, monitor, maintain, oversee, control and coordination of a wide variety of common administrative functions inherent within the office, such as records management, security, safety, travel, training, property accountability, and supplies. Provide information and report to leadership regarding personnel status, continuous learning, Visitor Access Request, and Joint Clearance and Access Verification System (JCAVS) for verification and validation. Process and manage the submission and completion of various forms, briefings, reports, and brochures that showcase the portfolio, its personnel, and security of people, equipment, and spaces.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret SCI Security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 5 years and may be terminated at any time based on the needs of management.
  • Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the expereince requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: In order to qualify for this position your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 or equivalent) grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Performing duties associated with Physical Security, AT/FP, OPSEC, Industrial Security, Security Training and Awareness, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) guidance; 2) Performing duties associated with Tasker Management, routing, staffing, organizing and completing a facets of tasker management from cradle to grave; 3) Administering security operations activities related to personnel, equipment and facilities; AND 4) Managing and/or administering, purchasing, monitoring and completing purchases. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-02 or GS-11 equivalent.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
