The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior command logistics manager, applying knowledge of supply operations management, AF supply systems, and supply chain performance metrics to develop, implement and maintain improved supply chain performance measures.
Duties
1. Serves as technical expert and lead logistician responsible for maintaining effective performance measures for the AFSC Supply Chain.
2. Performs supply chain problem solving and impacts analysis.
3. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
4. On complex topics, issues, projects and programs, prepares and delivers written correspondence and oral presentations used to secure support for program or budget, resolve controversial issues, convey proposed changes to assigned programs, and provide critical status to senior leaders.
5. Development of Self and Organization: Maintains current knowledge of events, technology, and organizational policies and procedures that influence current responsibilities.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualifications Standard for Administrative and Management Position. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes logistics management experience applying System Life Cycle concepts and/or Supply Chain Management (SCM) theories and principles to guide planning, development and program accomplishment through the various phases of system development and sustainment. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-13 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of DoD and Air Force regulations, principles, and practices pertaining to logistics support functions.
2. Knowledge of wide range of AFMC supply, material management, and logistics business processes and their associated automated information systems.
3. Extensive knowledge of AF Supply systems including, but not limited to the Standard Base Supply System (SBSSES-S), D035 Stock Control and Distribution (SC&D) system and LIMS-EV.
4. Knowledge of supply chain performance measurement development and utilization.
5. Ability to compile data, performs analysis, and present findings.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and maintain effective working relationships with individuals inside and outside the organization and to the highest levels of management.
7. Knowledge of DoD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC organization and functions as well as knowledge of the roles and missions of the MAJCOMS.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
