This position is located HHS, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Clinical Standards and Quality, Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ), iQuality Improvement and Innovation Group (iQIIG).
As a Health Insurance Specialist (Senior Advisor), GS-0107-15, responsible for all aspects of priority projects with developing vision, strategy, design and planning to shape iQIIG's approach to a variety of national program and administrative issues.
Duties
Serves as an advisor to the Group Director on policies, practices, and day-to-day operations. Participates in and
makes substantive contributions to top-level discussions and planning sessions on policy and program development.
Serves as an expert and technical authority in the review and assessment of programs, initiatives, and projects determined to be of high priority.
Prepares or directs the preparation of written communications to address complex and comprehensive correspondence, memoranda, briefing papers, option papers, speeches, and program proposals for the Group Director.
Initiate, establish, maintain cooperative/collaborative relationships to secure/provide information concerning ongoing proposed activities that may affect the conduct, coordination, execution, and administration of iQIIG programs and initiatives.

In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: (1) Providing executive-level technical direction and advice in the designing, planning, development and implementation of quality improvement policies and initiatives; (2) Directing numerous complex and high-priority special assignments involving extensive research, fact-finding, and analysis on a variety of high- level subjects of critical importance AND (3) Creating complex, policy briefs and options papers to make policy recommendations supported by extensive research, situational awareness and reflects consensus from key stakeholders.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
