You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the COMMANDER HELICOPTER SEA COMBAT WING, ATLANTIC of COMHELSEACOMBATWING LANT.

Duties

You will manage the daily administrative and operational support for ten (10) commands and over 3,000 personnel supported by the HSCWL Secure Facility, to include the civilian and military staff assigned to the Administrative/SAP Department. You will schedule and conduct high-level security and operational training and seminars. You will manage classified material documents/equipment and administration of special security procedures dealing with classification, review, control, storage, dissemination, transmission, destruction, and protection of SAP material. You will be responsible for providing managerial oversight to squadrons and commands, both shore and sea based involved in SAPs. You will provide policy guidance concerning specialized security procedures dealing with accountability, control, storage, dissemination, transmission, destruction and protection of SAP material. You will provide program fiscal management and budget submission recommendations for necessary program related experience and training. You will maintain overall responsibility for the control of electronic components, computers, and associated multimedia equipment. You will establish and maintain personnel security records and files dealing with government and contractor personnel authorized access to the program. You will provide guidance and instruction regarding proper marking, classification, and control procedures for the various types of compartmented information. You will liaison with all other commands participating in compartmented programs to ensure program integrity. You will coordinate SAP personnel security matters relating to multiservice activity (Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard and Foreign Military Sales personnel).

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

To qualify for the SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience analyzing and resolving highly sensitive security issues involving conflicting source information/testimony received during the conduct of personnel security investigations, security violations and practice dangerous to security investigations. Experience functioning as the command's primary Special Access Program Security Officer authoritative source, interpreting and analyzing overlapping and/or conflicting security policies and procedures promulgated by Washington level and chain of command authorities. Experience with security equipment and devices in planning and implementing protective methods and security procedures (e.g. fencing variations, alarm and detection devices, closed circuit television systems, locking devices for doors, windows, vaults, and gates). Experience with and comprehensive knowledge of physical security programs and policy requirements. Experience with and an in-depth knowledge of the collateral security manuals, procedures, policy guidelines and regulations for Special Access and other related or unrelated specialized security programs. Experience with and knowledge of SECNAV/CNO, CIA, NSA, DIA, NCIS, SSO Navy/CYBERFORCOM policies and procedures.
