Duties

You will serve as a Government Special Access Program (SAP) Security Officer (GSSO) managing and administers all aspects of numerous and diverse SAP compartmented programs. You will review and determine if candidates are suitable for SAP access prior to submitting Program Access Requests, administers program indoctrinations/ terminations, processes special clearance visit certifications through compartmented channels. You will oversee multiple SAP systems across multiple classification levels. You will provide detailed reports, tracks progress and provides a final report of the outcome as well as providing management with a corrective action report. You will provide security assistance for pre-construction maintenance and modification, including alarms, facility checklists, standard procedures and practices and other documentation required in accreditation approvals for program areas. You will use writing and judgment skills to interact professionally and effectively, orally and in writing, across all personnel levels of the Command and Staff; U.S. government military, civilian, contract, personnel alike.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
• Generally, current federal employees applying for APS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing and providing continuity of security for facility, personnel, visitor control, document control and all other security requirements; 2) Ensuring that access to Program Security Information is limited to cleared team members in accordance with all applicable directives, statutes, and dissemination instructions for handling of Classified/Sensitive Data 3) Providing security management, policy guidance and support to Program Office personnel members on all matters pertaining to protection program security procedures for special projects throughout the program life cycle; and 4) Managing all facility security requirements in accordance with the ICD 705 and other physical security mandates. 5) Leading investigations of security incidents to include reporting, documenting findings in accordance with policy and recommending corrective actions; and assessing security problems including analyzing alternatives, recommending solutions.
